Oh No, a Leak! Getting Past Menstrual Embarrassment

Look ladies, we’ve all been there. Although you know that you usually have a heavier flow only on the third day of your period, you end up in the bathroom with no extra pair of underwear but a feeling of embarrassment to last you for years. Are we about right? Thought so. Your menstrual cycle is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s natural and it happens to the best of us! However, even if it happens all the time, it doesn’t mean it’s not something that makes us feel uncomfortable. So, let’s talk about getting over the embarrassment.

Tip #1: Make a Joke of It!

Okay, it may sound like a weird tip, but hear us out! Why not just make a joke out of it? If others are simply going to be weird and awkward about it, why not just make it easier for them to feel less uncomfortable? Make a joke out of it and help others relate to you: Eh, we’ve all been there, right? You know what, women should have subsidies for free panties, looking at the number of times I’ve ruined mine like this!

Tip #2: Own it!

If you feel uncomfortable, it becomes a lot more difficult for you to go about your day. So, why not just own it? Okay, you’ve had a small mishap. It’s okay! You can get past it. If you’re worried about the smell, get yourself a pack of Lhamo pads. Our herbal-infused pads are minty, giving you a fresh feeling and covering up any smell that may make you feel uncomfortable.

Tip #3: Chill, it’s okay.

Finally, there’s no other tip than to tell you: it’s fine. It happens! If you’re worried about strangers in the street seeing your small slip-up, tell yourself that these strangers will never even remember you. And if you’re at work or school, find a sweater in the lost and found or borrow your colleague’s scarf for the day (and maybe get them a new one as a gift!). At the end of the day, no one will remember this in the future.
